Citation Integrity™ 101 · Module 9 of 9

Taken together — does it hold up?

The last Dimension doesn’t introduce a new check. It’s where every other Dimension gets weighed together into the decision that actually matters: CITE, CITE WITH QUALIFICATION, VERIFY, or DO NOT CITE.

Module 9

What Integrity Analysis checks

This Dimension checks, considering all the other Dimensions together, whether the information is coherent, appropriately qualified, and suitable for responsible reliance.

A page can pass some Dimensions individually and still land at VERIFY overall — strong Entity Authority doesn’t rescue weak Evidence & Citations. Integrity Analysis is where the whole picture gets weighed, not any single Dimension in isolation.

CITE

Evidence and source integrity are sufficient.

CITE WITH QUALIFICATION

Useful evidence exists, but material caveats remain.

VERIFY

Integrity is insufficient for confident use without more evidence.

DO NOT CITE

A material integrity failure is present.

Worked examples

The same claim, two different outcomes.

Concrete cases are the fastest way to see how this Dimension behaves in practice.

A mixed case

A claim comes from a qualified, named author (strong Entity Authority) at a reasonably credible publication (adequate Source Authority) — but its central citation doesn’t actually support the claim (weak Evidence & Citations).

The outcome

Integrity Analysis doesn’t let the strong Dimensions cancel out the weak one; a material gap in evidence is enough to move the overall decision to VERIFY, even with everything else in good shape.

Quick check

Two questions before you move on.

Ungraded and untracked — just a comprehension nudge.

1Can strength in one Dimension offset a material failure in another?

2What does Integrity Analysis actually add on top of the other seven Dimensions?
