1. About Citation Integrity™ Certified

Citation Integrity™ Certified is a CiteAbility™ programme that recognises organisations whose published information meets the CiteAbility™ Citation Integrity™ criteria at the time of assessment. Certification is based on an independent, structured review of evidence and is not a guarantee of future performance, ranking or citation by any third party.

2. Eligibility

Certification is included with the Starter, Growth and Enterprise plans, and with Agency client workspaces while the managing Agency plan is active. It is never sold: there is no fee for the badge and no renewal, and holding a subscription does not guarantee certification. CiteAbility™ reserves the right to refuse or revoke certification where an applicant provides false or misleading information, or where required assessment criteria cannot be satisfied.

3. Assessment and validity

Each certification check is conducted against the then-current Citation Integrity™ criteria, using the organisation’s latest completed full Citation Integrity™ Score assessment. The badge is awarded automatically when the checks pass and is re-verified automatically; there is no fixed term to renew. A certification is valid only while the organisation’s plan remains active, the underlying account remains in good standing and the certified pages continue to meet the criteria.

4. Use of certification marks

Certified organisations may display the Citation Integrity™ Certified badge only in connection with the specific pages, products or services covered by the active certification. The badge may not be altered, resized in a way that distorts the mark, or used in a manner that suggests endorsement beyond the scope of the certification.

5. Suspension and revocation

CiteAbility™ may suspend or revoke a certification if the certified organisation no longer meets the criteria, misuses the certification mark, no longer holds an eligible active plan, or breaches these terms. Upon revocation, all use of the certification mark must cease immediately and any public badge must be removed.

6. Limitation of liability

Certification does not guarantee that any third-party AI system will cite, recommend, rank or rely upon the certified information. To the extent permitted by law, CiteAbility™’s liability is limited to the fees paid for the certification service in question.

7. Changes to these terms

We may update these Certification Terms from time to time. Continued participation in the programme after changes means you accept the updated terms.

Does certification guarantee that AI systems will cite my business?
No. Certification records that your published information met the assessed criteria on a given date. No provider can control the behaviour of an external AI system.
Can certification be revoked?
Yes. Certification can be refused or withdrawn where an organisation supplies false or misleading information, or no longer satisfies the assessment criteria.
How is a badge verified?
Each badge carries a public verification code that resolves to a CiteAbility™ verification page, so anyone can confirm the certification is genuine and current.
